Certified Angus Beef had always been a label to me. 3 years ago I got invited to cook for their conference in Nashville. The 2 days that followed my event changed my entire perspective not only of the brand but of our role as a representative of the brand. I listened to ranchers cry on stage for their calves that froze during a blizzard, or were washed away in a flood. You see, these are not just cattle to these folks they are children and they are responsible for raising them to the best of their abilities and are tasked with keeping them safe and comfortable. Every person I met involved in every step of the process amazed me and truly made me rethink who we are in the chain and what our responsibility is. We are the final representation of these hard working Americans life work, the way they provide for their families just like we do.
So from that moment on I took on a whole new mission, to cook that product and represent it not only in the restaurants but on the road to the best of our / my ability.
