Three drinks that do very well to support brain health and lower your Alzheimer’s risk are green tea, red wine, and kombucha. Here’s why:
1.GREEN TEA contains the flavonoids, including epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), that are anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative. There is an amino acid, l-theanine, in green tea that is associated with several health benefits, including improvements in mood, cognition and a reduction of stress and anxiety-like symptoms.
2.RED WINE contains the plant nutrient, resveratrol (also found in red grapes and pistachios, if you don’t drink wine, which is an active inhibitor of inflammation and oxidative stress, directly benefiting your brain (of course, consumed in moderation).
3.The brainy benefits of KOMBUCHA largely come from its probiotic nature. Probiotics help reduce inflammation, make vitamins B3, B5, B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, and vitamin K, and produce butyrate -- a very important short-chain fatty acid -- that has been shown to prevent neurodegeneration and promote regeneration.
Anybody who has witnessed the effects of Alzheimer’s on a loved one would agree -- it is dreadful. We do not want this in our own future, nor do we want our children to have to bear the physical, mental, emotional, and financial stresses associated with taking care of us.
