How Long Does Chicken Last in the Fridge?
Two words to look out for in this post are Fridge and Freezer.
Chicken is a lean meat which is considered a staple meat in many households.
It is importantto prepare and store it properly otherwise it could become contaminated and cause illness.
Storing chicken in your fridge is convenient but most people wonder how long they can safely refrigerate chicken.
This post helps you understand just how long your chicken lasts in the fridge or freezer.
Raw Chicken, raw turkey and other poultry meat can be kept in the fridge approximately 1-2 days while cooked chicken can last for 3-4 days in the fridge and retain it's freshness/fresh taste.
Meanwhile, cooked chicken should be refrigerated in an air tight container while raw chicken should be put in leak proof container before refrigerating to avoid it's juice leaking and contaminating other foods.
But, if you need to store your chicken, Turkey and poultry meat longer than a few days; it is best to store it in your FREEZER.
Raw chicken pieces(cut up parts) can be stored in the freezer for up to 9 months (with constant power supply oooo!!!) while whole chicken can be frozen for up to one year, cooked chicken for 2-6 months in the freezer.
For long term storage or use, chickens are best stored in freezer or deep freezer as some call it.
For short term storage or use, chickens and poultry meat are best stored in the fridge.
