This is a rare photo of the Cave of Thawr in Makkah over 100 years ago. The photo was taken by Sayyid 'Abd al-Ghaffar al-Baghdadi.
Whilst Rasūlullāh ﷺ and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, were migrating to Madinah, the disbelievers of Makkah conspired to kill them so they both hid in the cave for 3 days. When the enemy entered the cave, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr whispered, 'If they look down towards their feet, they will see us.' Rasūlullāh ﷺ replied, '“What do you think, O Abu Bakr, of two - the third of whom is Allah?” Surah Tawba mentions that Rasūlullāh ﷺ said to his companion, 'Grieve not! Surely, Allāh is with us!' Imam Ahmad related that a spider spun a web over the entrance of the cave to protect him ﷺ.
Sayyiduna Umar spoke about this and said, 'I swear by Allāh, that day of Abu Bakr is better than all of the actions of the family of 'Umar.' When Sayyiduna 'Umar would address him he would say, 'O best of mankind after the Messenger of Allah.' And he replied, 'The sun has not risen upon a man better than Umar.' The Prophet also said, 'The best of people to me both in his companionship and in his wealth is Abu Bakr.' رضي الله عنه#allah #prophet #rasoolallah #mercy #mecca #madinah #islam #deen #durood #salawaat #love #pain #heals #baqi #blessings #peace #marriage #successful #quran #hadees
