さつま芋のきんつば!!! Kintsuba! Thanks for voting everyone. This is a sweet snack or dessert to have with hot tea. This version is made out of Japanese sweet potato, which is loaded with nutrients, vitamins and minerals. There are many other types of Kintsuba, like Adzuki bean (Red Bean) paste Kintsuba, and Sakura Blossom. Yum! The rice flour (+cake flour) batter on the outside has a soft and chewy texture. The freshly toasted black sesame seeds add just the right amount of nuty-ness. These are easy to make but they do have a few steps so it takes time. But I think it's easy and you can definitely do it too! As Japanese confectionery is often very neat and detailed, usually the extra crisps on the edges of the Kintsuba are trimmed....but my Southern roots wouldn't let me cut the crispy bits off! Hahahaha!
I got this recipe from my long time favorite Japanese chef, @cookingwithdog I have been watching their YouTube channel since I was 12 years old. Thank you Chef! 💙 Miss you Francis.
And no worries to the other voters, my next dessert will definitely be Tang Yuan 汤圆! 😁😁#food #foodstagram #foodoninstagram #japanesefoods #foodie #vegan #nondairy #japanesedesserts #japan #cookingwithdog
