Addictive behaviors & addictive mindsets: they’re addictive. Learn to detach addictive thoughts that do not serve you.
An addictive mindset, to me, is a negative one in which the negative behaviors thrive. Growing up with an extremely addictive personality, I have come to master the patterns of “addiction”. It used to be whenever I felt a certain way, I chose a self destructive coping mechanism. As years have gone by and I’ve gone through therapy, self discovery and growth; I’ve learned healthy skills that’ve become second nature. Life throws us boulders and bricks and often it is within those moments addictive pasts, mindsets and thoughts thrive. But the beauty of an addictive past is that it’s in the past. The single best thing to do when old desires, behaviors and habits try to push back into your life is say “I acknowledge why you want to come back, I understand life isn’t going “my way” but I will get through it at my healthy pace”.
Mental health; we all have it! By continuing an open dialogue about various struggles, the more those who feel like they must suffer in silence will decrease. 🌙
